EEEP!!

(or Venom Squashes a Bug)

Venom vs Ambush Bug

There's a ruckus outside the offices of Private Detective Irwin Schwab.  Irwin, known to most people as Ambush Bug (merely because he refuses to answer to Irwin Schwab) is curious and teleports outside.  Right into the hands of an angry Venom.  Mistaking the Bug for a Spider-Man disciple, Venom decides to tear him apart. Ambush Bug, not being particularly bright, forgets he can teleport out of Venom's grasp and frantically fights to break free while hoping his partner, Superman, arrives in time to save him.

The Venom was made by Horizon, I modified the right hand slightly by changing the wrist from an acute angle to an obtuse one so AB's head would fit.  The Ambush Bug is a conversion from an ERTL Security Chief Odo figure.  This one required a lot more work.  Both arms, the head, and one leg required repositioning.  Both forearms are original.  I used Aves Apoxie Sculpt to rebuild the shoulders, the forearms, and the right knee.  The base is made from house insulation foam, part of sanding belt, and a piece of roofing shingle.  When I saw the shingle, I thought it looked exactly like asphalt and would be perfect for a road scene.

Both figures were painted with Delta and Apple Barrel craft paints via airbrush and normal brush.  To make the Ambush Bug look more futuristic (the suit is alien in origin) I made it slightly metallic by airbrushing the green with Parma Faschange Green airbrush paint.
