Dear Prospective Member,

"The purpose of the Purdue Club of Greater Dayton is to promote the interests of Purdue University, to provide an opportunity for fellowship among the alumni, friends, and students of Purdue University, to provide scholarships to students attending Purdue University from the local area, and to be a positive influence in the greater Dayton community."  (Article 2.0, Constitution) More specifically, the essence of our existence focuses on the incoming freshman students from our area who are attending, or thinking of attending, Purdue University.  100% of our fund raising (e.g., solicited donations, and sale of Entertainment Books) goes to provide scholarships (currently $600 to three students) to beginning students at Purdue University.  Funds raised in excess of $1,800 per year are set aside for the establishment of a scholarship endowment fund with the Purdue Foundation. Additionally, we promote the interests of Purdue University by administering the P.A.R.T. (Purdue Alumni Recruiting for Tomorrow) program for the Office of Admissions.  This involves manning booths at local college fairs, telephoning admitted students, and sponsoring local events for both new and continuing students.  In the area of community involvement we provide both financial resources (from membership dues) and physical resources (time and labor) in the support of numerous community projects and non-profit organizations.

I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to become a member of the Purdue Club of Greater Dayton.  You do not have to be a graduate of Purdue University to join the club …just being a fan will do. I have attached a membership form for your convenience.  If you choose to join the club, and I certainly hope that you do, I would encourage you to select a "family" membership, if appropriate.  A family membership includes the spouse and all school age children (including college students). Our club year runs from Jul 1 – Jun 30.

If you have any questions about the club please feel free to contact the club President Bob Forbes at (937) 426-9057, or e-mail him at rofor2@earthlink.net.
