New Sunday School / Bible Study
OLD TESTAMENT COURSE -- in progressSunday Mornings:Beginning Tuesday, January 8th at 7p.m. we will begin a 42 week study on the Old Testament. The book we will be using is Understanding the Old Testament, the Fifth Edition, written by Bernhard W. Anderson with Steven Bishop and Judith H. Newman. The cost will be $40.00 for the book. The aim of this text book is to interweave the elements of historical study, archaeological research, literary criticism, and biblical theology by viewing the history of ancient Israel as story-form its crucial beginnings at the time of the exodus (12th century B.C.E.) to the flowering of its literature in the late period of biblical Judaism, the so-called Maccabean period (second century B.C.E.) Please call the church office to sign up for this class, or if you have any questions.
