The Tiffin Serra club has members from
these parish communities.

As Serra International
is the lay vocation arm of the church, our mission is to foster and
affirm vocations to the ministerial priesthood and vowed religious
life in the United States and through this ministry further our
members’ common Catholic faith.
|
Serra is a group of lay catholics whose primary
objectives are becoming better informed Catholics on moral and spiritual
matters, seeking out and cultivating new vocations to the priesthood and religious life and preserving
the vocations we already have. The way we achieve these goals are through prayer and vocation awareness.
Serra was chartered in Tiffin in 1955 with the encouragement of Msgr. Richard Gabel. Daily prayer for vocations and two supper meetings a month at the Upper Room in St. Joseph Parish Activity Center to help keep us abreast of the current Church issues and vocation strategies in which we can all participate. The Serra movement is now chartered in 38 countries across the world. This years international convention was held in Spokane, Washington. It featured bishops, priests, religious and Serrans from around the globe. The theme of this year's convention was "Here I am Lord, Send Me". This year the Diocese of Toledo has 20 young seminarians. Please help us with you prayers to relieve the critical shortage of priests and religious. Keep in mind that our priests and sisters come from good Catholic families like those
right in our own parishes!
